Mid-Atlantic Group Network of Shared Services Cooperative (MAGNET) is one of the oldest, largest, and most experienced shared service organizations in the country. It was created to develop contracts on behalf of its members in the niche market of capital equipment. MAGNET currently serves approximately 9,500 providers, including hospitals, alternate care facilities, and physician practices and clinics with a contract portfolio that includes equipment, services, commodities and the newly emerging area of niche/boutique products.
MAGNET is a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) made up of five regional GPOs that share and offer services from their collective group purchasing programs to the participant facilities of MAGNET.
Recently, MAGNET awarded a primary contract with UltraViolet Devices, Inc. (UVDI) for ultraviolet (UV) room disinfection equipment. UVDI’s innovative V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer is now available for all of MAGNET’s GPO members interested in advanced technology for superior room surface disinfection.
UVDI’s V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer achieves 99% or greater surface disinfection in minutes. The device generates high intensity UV energy that quickly disinfects surfaces contaminated with viruses, bacteria and fungi, and has been proven effective against superbugs such as MRSA and C. difficile. The V-360+ is a mobile device and is typically deployed by hospital environmental services staff to areas in hospitals where healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a concern.
“UVDI is pleased to be a MAGNET Cooperative preferred vendor and to offer member hospitals and healthcare providers our tested and proven UV disinfection technology,” said Richard Hayes, President of UVDI. “The V-360+ provides advanced disinfection technology enabling member healthcare providers to mitigate their risks from MDRO’s and HAIs while improving patient outcomes.”
